Bumper weekend for Lynn triathletes

Members of Kings Lynn Triathlon Club got the triathlon season off to a great start this weekend with some impressive results. In the East Coast Super Sprint in Great Yarmouth Jamie Sparrow finished the 250m swim, 16km cycle and 3km run in 45.30, first in his age group (35-39) and fourth overall. Mark Collins beat his PB for that event by over five minutes, finishing in 56.04. Matthew Davies, Marcus Hawkins and Simon Light competed at Duston Sprint Triathlon in Northamptonshire an event comprising 400m swim, 20k bike and 5k run. Matthew finished in 1.02.56 placing him 8th in his age category (40-44) and 46th overall in a field of 461. Marcus came in at 1.05.46 making him 71st overall and 14th in age group (40-44), while Simon, despite being unwell, finished in 1.08.56, 25th in age category (35-39) and 118th overall. Dave Neal and Chris Workman took part in the Lincoln Sprint Tri, Chris finishing 59th and Dave 169th out of 494 finishers with both placing top 10 in their age categories.
